About BBB

The Better Business Bureau (BBB), founded in 1912, is a private, nonprofit organization whose self-described mission is to focus on advancing marketplace trust, consisting of 106 independently incorporated local BBB organizations in the United States and Canada, coordinated under the International Association of Better Business Bureaus (IABBB) in Arlington, Virginia.

What is BBB Accreditation Business?

BBB Accreditation Standards represent standards for business accreditation by BBB. Businesses based in the United States and Canada that meet these standards and complete all application procedures will be accredited by BBB.

BBB accreditation does not mean that the business’s products or services have been evaluated or endorsed by BBB, or that BBB has made a determination as to the business’ product quality or competency in performing services.

Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation.

However, in 2009, a quarter of a million customers contacted the Canton Region/Greater West Virginia BBB to check on a business before they made a transaction. Many of these customers utilized the BBB Accredited Business Directory to find reputable companies to contact before they did business. When give the choice between doing business with a BBB Accredited Business or non-Accredited Business, 7 out of 10 consumers prefer doing business with a BBB Accredited Business.  (According a Princeton Survey)

Standards of BBB Accreditation  

Having had been accredited by BBB, Target Language Translation Services affirms that it meets and obey the following standards:

Build Trust--Establish and maintain a positive track record in the marketplace and fulfill all competency and trade licensing requirements.

Advertise without falsity --Abide by update legal and ethical advertising and selling practices, including, but not limited to, the BBB Code of Advertising. Work with BBB and agree to modify, substantiate or discontinue advertising and selling practices when recommended.

Tell the Truth--Honestly represent services, including clear and prominent disclosures of all relevant terms. Be clear in all written and verbal representations and include all relevant facts in all transactions.

Be Transparent--Openly identify the nature, location, and ownership of the business, and clearly and prominently disclose all material facts that bear on a client's decision to buy. Upon request, quickly provide BBB with all information required to ensure adherence to BBB standards.

Honor Promises--Fulfill all contracts, commitments and representations.

Be Responsive--Handle disputes forwarded by BBB promptly and in good faith.

Guarantee Privacy--Protect any data collected against unauthorized disclosure and fraud, collect personal information only as needed, and respect the preferences of customers regarding the utilization of their information.

Embody Integrity--Approach all business dealings, transactions and commitments with integrity, good faith and intent to do what is reasonably expected.
